Deep tissue massage works on the deeper layers of muscle to provide relief from aches, pains and muscle knots, bringing a great release to the body and nourishment to the soft tissues.

Deep tissue massage is a great way to support the re-building of strength after injury. It can help scar tissue to heal well and give length to tight muscle fibres.
The massage is performed on a very comfortable massage couch. You will undress to your underwear and be covered by towels, and a lotion or oil is used to perform the deep tissue massage. You will be asked about any particular areas of discomfort and tension, and the practitioner will use her palms, fingers, forearms or elbows to apply the right amount of pressure depending on your needs and preferences.
This is a great form of massage for back, shoulder and neck tension or stiffness, as well as for those who spend their days either seated or standing for long hours.
Posture can be improved within a few sessions, which helps reduce pain and tension and brings greater ease.
Deep tissue massage should not be painful! Feedback is always welcome so that the massage remains effective and comfortable for you. Many people find that as they can relax, their muscles respond well and soften for the deeper work. Some people are surprised at how much pressure they enjoy, while others will benefit from lighter strokes to flush through congestion.
